 Scappoose Hospitality Group Finalizes Hotel Site Selection

On July 21, 2025, Scappoose Hospitality Group (SHG) officially selected the site for its flagship hotel project in Scappoose, Oregon. SHG has entered into a Purchase and Sale Agreement (PSA) with the Port of Columbia County for a 2.29-acre parcel located on Wagner Court, directly across the street from the Portland Community College (PCC) Scappoose Campus.

This strategic location offers immediate proximity to regional education and workforce training hubs, including PCC and the Oregon Manufacturing Innovation Center (OMIC), and is situated within one of the city’s key growth corridors. The selected site will be home to the first hotel ever developed in Scappoose, meeting a long-standing need for local lodging options to support business, academic, and leisure travelers.

Finalization of this PSA marks a major milestone in SHG’s development timeline and underscores our commitment to bringing high-quality hospitality infrastructure to Columbia County.

Project Update: Consultant Engagement Milestones for Scappoose Hotel Development

Scappoose Hospitality Group (SHG) is actively advancing pre-development work for what will be the first hotel ever developed in Scappoose, Oregon. As we prepare the site for entitlements and vertical construction, SHG has engaged the following professional consultants:

• June 2, 2025 – SHG entered into agreement with KLS Surveying to complete boundary, topographic, and easement surveys for the hotel site.
   
• June 3, 2025 – SHG engaged Central Geotechnical Services to conduct subsurface investigations and soil analysis to inform foundation engineering and site preparation.
   
• July 16, 2025 – SHG retained Kittelson & Associates to lead civil design development and prepare a Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA) in coordination with city and county planning officials.
   

These milestone engagements are critical to our due diligence and site-readiness efforts. SHG remains committed to bringing high-quality lodging to Scappoose, addressing unmet demand for business and leisure accommodations in the region.

Ongoing - Scappoose Hospitality Group is working in tandem with the city of Scappoose, Or to obtain necessary approvals for the development of a 100+ room hotel.  

November 8, 2024 - Scappoose Hospitality Group is currently in negotiations with highly regarded International Brands. A brand selection is imminent. 

October 7, 2024 - Scappoose Hospitality Group attended The Lodging Conference in Scottsdale AZ. Our team met with several brand representatives, discussed our project with lenders, and investors. 

November 14, 2024 - Scappoose Hospitality Group will be attending the Northwest Hotel Investment Forum in Bellevue, WA.
